I have plastic pedals, will Power Grips work with them?
Answer
Typically not. Plastic cages are thick and therefore won’t accept standard Power Grips hardware. Additionally, the cages are usually fairly brittle and weak, and therefore we don’t advise drilling or modifying them.
Since plastic pedals probably won’t last very long any way, we recommend a Power Grips Sport pedal kit. At a suggested retail price of $38.95, it’s only about $16 more than a set of standard Power Grips and includes a pair of good quality pedals that use a plastic body but a steel cage.
Problem/Symptom: Stripped Front Bracket Screw
This has been a problem with some of our older screws. Newer models of Power Grips use a stainless steel screw and the problem has not recurred.
